The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin I, has expressly pointed out that the title of “Sarkin Sasa,” is unrecognised under the Ibadan Traditional Chieftaincy Law, thereby declaring the title illegal.
According to a statement signed by the monarch Chief Press Secretary, the paramount ruler revealed this shortly after the Olubadan-in-Council meeting held at the monarch’s palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday, April 7, 2025.
Oba Olakulehin reaffirmed Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa as the duly recognised Baale of Sasa, in Akinyele Local Government Area, and the official representative of the Olubadan in the community.
He said, “Let it be clearly stated that all residents and stakeholders in Sasa are subject to the authority of Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa, the Baale of Sasa. He is to be accorded the full respect and obedience due to his office. Any act of defiance or insubordination towards his directives will be treated as a direct affront to the stool of the Olubadan and will attract strict sanctions.”
