Tinubu stated this yesterday at the office of the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, when she was received by the governor, his deputy, Kaduna state assembly members, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.
In a statement signed by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady called attention to the harmful practice of female genital mutilation, which she says Nigeria should have gone past that stage.
The First Lady pointed out that the nation’s population is not encouraging as government has to deal with a large number of people, noting that the buy-in of all stakeholders is needed to yield the desired results.
In his remarks, the chairman Kaduna State Council of traditional rulers, and the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, gave a commitment on behalf of the traditional rulers present that they would do everything to take the advocacy for the HIV AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and female genital mutilation to the grass roots.
