Ondo State Residents have been thronging government-designated areas to donate blood for the survivors of the Fulani terrorist attack at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, in Ondo State.
It will be recalled that the deadliest Fulani terrorists popularly called Fulani Herdsmen yesterday stormed St Francis Catholic Church, Owo and killed many Christian worshippers as well as injured many.
Those injured were rushed to different hospitals for medical attention and the hospitals’ managements sought pints of blood to be transfused on those in a critical state for survival.
Responding to this call, residents gleefully stormed the designated blood collection centres and were seen donating blood.
It was gathered that over 30 students of Ondo State College of Health Technology, Akure have donated 30 units of blood for the victims.
In a post made by one Opeyemi Ayodele Ese, one of the blood donating centres had raised 22 pints ready y to be transported to St. Louis Catholic Hospital and Federal Medical Centre in Owo to be administered to the victims.
However, Nigerian Red Cross, the Ondo State branch has called for more blood donors, urging Nigerians to assist the victims in whatever way. The designated centres for the collection are Akure, Ondo, Owo and Ikare.
Likewise, their Osun State counterpart is mobilising for blood donation to be transported to Ondo.
