An Activist and three students of the University of Ibadan (UI), who protested the recent hike in school fees from about N65,000 to over N400,000, and were arrested and beaten up by the school security before been handed over to the men Operation Burst, have been released.

The protesting students released from Operation Burst’s custody this evening are Nice Linus, Aduwo Ayodele and Mide Gbadegbesin, and an activist, Femi Adeyeye.
The four protesters protested with placards at the Trenchard Hall today during the inauguration of the new Students Union Government (SUG).
According to Adeyeye, the management of the nation’s Premier University was threatened by the show of courage of the protesters, challenging their undemocratic and wicked fee hike as directed by The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode then mobilized the school security men to arrest them.
