Four Presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress (APC), today paid a condolence visit to the Ondo people over the loss of lives in the Fulani Terrorists’ attack at St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, which occurred yesterday.
The aspirants, who were received by the governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu were the nation’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, APC National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor John Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Tinubu, however, donated N50million to the victims of the attack and N25million to St Francis Catholic Church.
According to a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, Fayemi equally announced a donation of N50million to the victims of the attack.
The condolers visited St Francis Catholic Church, where the incident occurred and were made to see those injured in the hospitals.
Vice President Osinbajo, who delivered President Muhammadu Buhari’s message of reassurance that the administration remains committed to putting an end to the various security challenges in the country assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
In his speech, Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye noted that the attack was on Nigeria and not Ondo state alone and urged the Federal Government to review the security architecture of the country and flush out strangers residing in various forest reserves in the state.
