Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun has declared August 20, 2020 a public holiday to enable the State Traditional Worshipers celebrate this year’s edition of “Isese” festival.
It would be recalled that on Thursday August 14, 2020, the Progressive Witches and Wizards Association held their maiden anniversary at the Araba Castle in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.
Governor Oyetola, while felicitating with the Traditional Worshipers Association’s (TRWASO) Executives in the state appreciated them for their consistent cooperation and understanding with the state government, in the practice of their religion, especially, since the emergence of Coronavirus.
In view of the sensitivity of the COVID-19 in the state, the government urged the traditional worshipers to celebrate the grand finale of the year 2020 festival at their various temples, devoid of social activities.
“We seize this opportunity to remind them not to relent in their efforts in prayer for the state because the pandemic spread still persists, hence, the strong desire to strictly comply with the state government Covid-19 protocols during and after the celebration. It is our belief that next year “Isese” festival shall be better celebrated at the exit of the current pandemic”, the government stated.
