Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State yesterday flagged off the Joint Task Force Against Kidnapping, Cultism and Illegal Mining in state saying that his government is determined to rid Osun off criminality and guarantee security and safety of the people.
He explained that the Joint Task Force is a collaboration of the Army, the Police, the Air Force, the DSS, the NSCDC and the Immigration Service adding “it shall provide operational support for Amotekun to fight cultism, kidnapping, illegal mining and other related crimes”.
Oyetola assured that the government would provide adequate security for the economic and investment programmes so that the vision to turn Osun into an economic hub could be realised affirming that security would play significant roles in the achievement of his administration’s development plan.
He charged the JTF officials to embrace their tasks with all sense of patriotism, integrity &diligence.
“I also enjoined them to work together as a team & eschew all acts that can compromise their calling & effectiveness, including bribery, corruption,high-handedness & recklessness”, the governor added.
