The Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Munta Abimbola, on Friday, January 13, 2023, retired from active service in the state.
In attendance at a valedictory Court Session in Honour of His Lordship were Governor Seyi Makinde and his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, some senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN), including Chief Folake Solanke and former and serving Commissioners of Justice in the state.
In his short remark, Makinde wished His Lordship a peaceful retirement but hinted that we would continue to consult him.
He said, “Justice Abimbola was an advisor and a partner in ensuring the delivery of good governance to the people of Oyo State. I promised to continue and complete the work of modernising the Judiciary which we already started under his administration as Chief Judge of Oyo State.”
