Oyo State Government today ordered the immediate distribution of medical consumables, records materials worth N60m recently purchased for all the 57 hospitals and clinics under the Oyo State Hospital Management Board by concerned personnel.
The Chairman, Oyo state Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Gbola Adetunji, who revealed this in a statement issued and made available to the media, said the consumables comprise of laboratory reagents, physiotherapy materials, dental consumables, X- ray films and chemicals, medical records case notes and patients chats.
He said, “The consumables comprise of laboratory reagents, physiotherapy materials, dental consumables, X- ray films and chemicals, medical records case notes and patients chats. The management had developed a system of regular procurement of these essential hospital consumables in collaboration with the Bureau of Public Procurement (Due Process Office). This system will ensure regular supply of these items to our hospitals and stem out the out-of-stock syndrome”.
He maintained that the Oyo state Hospitals Management Board has mandated all the management team of the hospitals to cooperate with the board in ensuring success of the scheme by prudent management and transparent accountability in the use of these materials.
Adetunji, therefore, enjoined health workers in the state to imbibe the culture of good work ethics and patient-friendly work attitudes.
He said, “The management is mandating all members of the management team of our hospitals to cooperate with the board in ensuring success of the scheme by prudent management and transparent accountability in the use of these materials. Health workers are also enjoined to imbibe the culture of good work ethics and patient-friendly work attitudes”.
He urged all health workers in the state to reciprocate the good works of the Oyo State governor, ’Seyi Makinde, by bringing health care delivery to the door steps of all and sundry in the State.
