Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State will install Senator (Dr) Lekan Balogun as new Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday March 11, 2022.
The Oyo State Government confirmed this in a letter dated February 22, 2022, which was addressed to the Olubadan-Designate.
The letter titled, “Installation Ceremony, Olubadan of Ibadanland” and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Dr Bashiru A Olarewaju noted that the state governor has approved March 11 for the installation of the new king.
The letter reads, “I wish to refer to a letter No.IBSELG.243/17 of 16th February, 2022 on the above subject and inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State has approved Friday, 11th of March, 2022 as the date of the Installation of the New Olubadan of Ibadan.”
The letter concluded, “Once again, Congratulations, Kabiyesi,” the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bashiru Olanrewaju, stated in the two-paragraph circular.”
