The Oyo State Government has revealed plans to redevelop the Podo Business Complex in Ibadan.
This move, according to the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Adebiyi Adebisi, is expected to boost trade and commerce in the state.
Adebisi, who said this today in Ibadan, stated that the project would provide modern infrastructure, enhancing the business environment and attracting investments to Ibadan, adding that this aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration’s commitment to economic development through similar projects.
He said that the Oyo State Government has already demonstrated its proactive approach to creating conducive environments for businesses through projects like the revamp of the Bola Ige International Business Complex.
According to him, the redevelopment of Podo Business Complex promises numerous benefits for traders, entrepreneurs, and the state at large. Key benefits include improved infrastructure, enhanced economic growth, and a visually appealing hub attracting customers and investors.
He emphasised that the project would attract local and foreign investments, generate increased revenue for the state, ensuring enhanced security measures.
Adeniyi added that the project would create employment opportunities during construction and after completion, and stimulate economic activity.
The Commissioner added that these benefits would have a positive impact on the local economy and community.
Adebisi said that the redevelopment of Podo Business Complex marks a significant step towards transforming Ibadan into a thriving economic centre.
With the project’s expected completion, the state is poised for increased economic growth and development, solidifying its position as a hub for commerce and industry.
