Oyo State Police Command today paraded two out of four suspected armed robbers, who are equally members of Aiye Confraternity operating in the state and terrorising students of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, the notorious cultists cum armed robbers, armed with Guns, Jack Knives and some other dangerous weapon attacked one of the LAUTECH students identified as Bode on March 20, 20201, and he was dispossessed of his “I Phone”.
The hoodlums identified as Oluwanisola Quadri, 28, alias A.K.A Quatar and Olapade Oladimeji, 30, a.k.a A.K.A dejavu equally siphoned a cash sum of N1million from his account.
The Commissioner revealed, “The hoodlums also attacked some other students of the institution and dispossessed them of their expensive cell phones, cash and other valuable items. Emboldened by their previous actions they continued in a spree until the long arm of the law caught up with them in May 2021 along Ogbomosho axis in a deliberately planned operation by operatives of the Command’s Monitoring Unit in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters. Active investigations are ongoing to crackdown members of the criminal gang”.
Items recovered from them are: one Iphone X Max, one Infinix Cell Phone, two syringes with needle, one First bank ATM card and some quantities of hard drugs.
Equally paraded are: Adediran Adeyemi, 25, arrested on June 2, 2021, for defrauding some members of the public under the guise of offering undergraduate and post graduate academic admissions.
Luck ran against Adeyemi when he defrauded one Oresanya Tosin of Odoona Area after allegedly promising her daughter, admission at Kwara State University and this led to his arrest.
The Commissioner said, “Interestingly, the matter took another dimension when after the Police finished their mediation, the suspect sought to propagate falsehood through the social media platform to solicit empathy from the members of the public deliberately accusing the Police of Extortion in a bid to smear the image of officers and men of the Division. The suspect confessed to the offence and investigations are ongoing to unravel more details about the suspect and his mode of operation”.
Recovered from the fraudster is one Infinix note 8 Mobile Phone.
Also, the Police paraded Akeem Ishola and Mutahiru Animasaun and Ibrahim Babatunde, 19 for breaking into their victims’ residences, stealing valuable property.
Isola and Animasaun disposed their victim of his cell phone, a set of home theater and one Zenith Bank ATM, which was used to withdraw N572,000.00 at a Point of Sales shop within the community while being held hostage in his abode at gun point.
Babatunde stole One Plasma TV, two stabilizers, one Generator, one pressing Iron, one DVD Player and one small hand fan belonging to one Komolafe Oladapo Akanji.
