Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Wednesday August 26, 2020 revealed that the state has lost another two persons to Coronavirus, bringing the total number to 37.
Makinde, on his twitter page said, “Sadly, we had two COVID-19 related deaths. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo State is thirty-seven”.
According to him, 50 confirmed Covid-19 cases received their second negative test results and have been discharged, bringing the number of treated and discharged cases in the state to 1,732.
He said the Covid-19 confirmation tests for eight suspected cases came back positive. The cases are from Ibadan South West (3), Egbeda (3), Ibadan North (1) and Akinyele (1) Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 3,058.
Currently, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 1,289 persons are on admission for Covid-19 in the state.
