The Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Houssam Diab, has said that the Lebanese Government will continue to forge partnership with Oyo State by joining hands in bringing investment and development to the state.
The Ambassador stated this on Monday, July 13 2020, when the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Diaspora, Mrs. Bolanle Ashabi Sarumi-Aliyu paid him a visit in his Abuja office.
He stated that the Lebanese Government is looking forward to having a good relationship with Oyo State, by improving on what they already have.
On her part, the SSA, on behalf of the Oyo State Government, thanked the Lebanese Government, the Lebanese Community and Silverwings Travel Agency for repatriating over 60 victims few weeks ago from Lebanon.
She thanked him, most especially, for the return of 9 citizens of Oyo State, including Peace Busari, who was put up for sale on Facebook, and the remaining 20 citizens of other States to Nigeria on Saturday, July 11 2020.
Arumi-Aliyu said, “We will work closely with the Lebanese Government and the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa to ensure we put an end to all human trafficking cases of Oyo State Citizens in Lebanon and work on a better migration process for our citizens”.
