The Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde for clinching the People’s Democratic Party’s ticket to contest for a second term in the 2023 election.
Makinde emerged as the candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election after polling over 1,040 votes.
He defeated an erstwhile Deputy Governor, Hazeem Gbolarumi who polled two votes.
Adeniran who said Nigerians never expected anything less, thanked God for granting Makinde victory.
His words, “We thank Almighty Allah for granting our leader victory at the party primaries. I want to congratulate our leader and friend, Governor Seyi Makinde for emerging victorious in the PDP Primaries. You haven’t missed an opportunity to prove how much of a pleasant leader you are.”
Adeniran urged Gbolarumi, whom he described as a party stalwart, to queue behind Makinde and work assiduously for the party’s victory in 2023.
According to him, “Congratulations to our leader on his emergence as the flag bearer of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party. We are united under one Umbrella and we will work assiduously for our party’s victory in 2023.”
Adeniran, however, appealed to members of the party in the state who are still aggrieved to embrace genuine reconciliation ahead of the 2023 general election.
He also extended the ruling Party’s hands of fellowship to members of the opposition party and their supporters, asking them to defect to PDP saying, “I also noticed that some members of the opposition party are complaining about APC primaries. I urge them to decamp to PDP.”
