The Oyo State Government has developed 2022 operational plan for the state health sector with a view to improving on the success recorded in the sector come next year.
The template was finalized at the weekend by stakeholders in the health sector, in collaboration with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
Speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Oyo State, Dr. Adebisi Ayoola, said the initiative was part of efforts of the government at making the state a place with universal health coverage.
Ayoola revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde led administration has embarked on the mission of seeing that the state becomes a place for medical tourism with the help of medical consultants, professors in the health sector, medical technocrats and partners of the state.
He harped on the need for medical personnel to continually oblige patients necessary attention and also ensure proper monitoring of cases for rapid recovery.
Ayoola called for team work among experts in health sector of the state for improved service delivery, stressing the government determination to put an end to quackery in the sector.
In his speech, the representative of United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF, Ijeoma Agbo , assured the state government of UNICEF support in the area of implementation of the Annual Operational Plan , towards making the state one of the pacesetters, providing health care services in the country.
