There is an indication that the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), may have suspended the on-going state local government election in Ido Local Government.
According to information gathered, OYSIEC suspended the election due to a complaint from the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) that the name and logo of the party is omitted in the ballot papers.
PrimeStarNews gathered that OYSIEC is trying to ensure that all the political parties in the election are treated fairly in the election as well as to avoid unnecessary litigation over the election.
The information has it that OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Lagunju decided to suspend the election after he was notified that the logo of ZLP is omitted on the ballot papers.
It was further gathered that at the time of filing this report, the OYSIEC staff are already leaving some polling units including units in Omio-Adio.
Attempt to get the Election officer in Omio-Adio to confirm the development failed as he stated that he did not have a legal right to make such statement, urging the newsmen to seek all information from OYSIEC headquarters.
