The 40th-day Fidau prayers for former Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, took place today, August 6 2020, at his Oluyole residence, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The former governor died on June 25 following complications from COVID-19.
An Islamic cleric, Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello led other Islamic clerics to pray for the deceased.
Bello, who addressed the gathering told Ajimobi’s supporters not to destroy his legacies.
In attendance at the prayer were family members including his wife, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, his first son, Idris Ajimobi and other immediate and extended family members.
Also present were eminent dignitaries and political associates including Kano state governor and his wife, Umar Ganduje who are Ajimobi’s in-laws (Ganduje’s daughter, Fatima, is married to late Ajimobi’s son, Idris), Senators Teslim Folarin, Abdulfatai Buhari, Former SSG, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, Former Heads of Service, Soji Eniade, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan and Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi.
Also in attendance were All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state, Adebayo Adelabu, for Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Hon. Moses Alake Adeyemo, among others.
