Oyo State Police Command today paraded the immediate past Oyo State Chairman of Park Management System (PMS), Mukaila Lamidi alias Auxiliary at the command headquarters located at Eleyele Area of Ibadan for Murder, Attempted murder, Arms dealing, Armed Robbery and Kidnapping.
Auxiliary was once the ally of Governor Seyi Makinde, who assisted the governor in winning the election in 2019, consequently, Makinde compensated him with the position of PMS Chairman.
After a misunderstanding between the duo, Makinde said there cannot be two governors in the state, hence sacked Auxiliary as PMS Chairman.
Following this, the police declared Auxiliary wanted on June 2, 2023, for offences ranging from murder, attempted murder, arms dealing, armed robbery and kidnapping.
According to the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Dr Adebola Hamzat, this declaration was made in furtherance of a well-coordinated intelligence-led raid between the 30th -and 31st of May 2023 in line with standard Operating procedure, where a total of 78 suspects, comprising 49 male and 29 female suspects were arrested with some of them serving different prison terms presently.
Hamsat affirmed that the exhibits recovered in his possession at his Diamond Hotel residence around Alakia-Isebo Egbeda under Egbeda Local Government Area at the time include: two SMG riffles with two magazines, one AK-47 Rifle, one Pump action riffle nine locally made pistols, two English pistol with magazine, seventy rounds of Ak-47 Ammunitions, 338 pieces of live cartridges, 62 expended, 13 pieces of 9-mm Ammunition, nine Jack knives, three axes, 400 pieces of long cutlasses, one Hammer, one Walkie-Talkie Device, one Army Camouflage Jacket, one Bullet Proof Jacket with Inscription “Kiriji heritage defence’’, three International Passports, a huge Cache of Criminal Charms, one Damaged Handcuff, three Long Swords, three Portrait pictures, and one traditional crown and staff.
He said furtherance of these, discreet intelligence-led search commenced for the sacked PMS chieftain with the help of technology, collaborative efforts with Sister Services and Community Policing, many locations were identified, traced and combed for months until his recent arrest in a concerted effort with our sister services.
According to the police, the suspect would be charged to court for offences committed.
