Oluyemi Fasipe, who identified himself as a youth Advocate and Brand Influencer residing in Ondo State has reported one Sergeant Sunday Awelewa of Fanibi Police Station in Akure, who goes about intimidating and extorting innocent residents of the state.
Fasipe specifically accused Awelewa of forcefully collecting N20,000 from one Tolulope Falekun.
He said in his compliant to the police, “I have been getting a series of complaints against Sergeant Sunday Awelewa of Fanibi station Akure. Yesterday, he forcefully collected N20k transfer from one Tolulope Falekun using the account details attached. I have witnesses ready to testify. Transfer from one Tolulope Falekun using the account details attached. I have witnesses ready to testify”.
However, responding to his complaint, the Police Authority waded into the issue and made the policeman to refund the money forcefully collected.
Lauding the police authority for its swift response, Fadipe stated, “The DPO of the station reached out to me and invited all the parties involved. I am highly impressed with how the DPO, Mr. Femi Joseph handled the issue. The money collected was refunded and the officer involved will be sanctioned accordingly”.
Reacting, one Omoyajowo Temitope described the policeman as a bad egg in the Nigeria Police Force saying, “This man is a useless person. I could remember the day he was insulting my mum at Fanibi Police Station”.
