Following the death of the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, arrangements for his burial, which will commence 4pm, is almost completed.
At the time of filing this report, his grave is being dug at the monarch’s compound. The security operatives have blocked the road leading to the monarch’s palace.
The remains of the monarch has already been brought to the Popoyemoja palace of the late Olubadan from University College Hospital (UCH), where he died around 4am today.
According to a statement signed by the Personal Assistant/Director of Media and Publicity to the late monarch, Adeola Oloko, Oba Adetunji, who passed away at 93 in the early hours of this morning at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, is survived by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mourners were seen thronging the palace.
