President Muhammadu Buhari has re-appointed Professor Segun Ajiboye for another five years as Chief Executive/Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Ajiboye received his reappointment letter through the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Education, Architect Sunday Echono.
While reacting, Ajiboye thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him for another five years.
Ajiboye, who noted that the reward for hard work is more work, stated that he would continue to reposition teaching profession to global standards.
The TRCN boss stated that he would pursue in the next five years improvement in the welfare of teachers in Nigeria and deepen the deployment of technology in teaching.
Ajiboye, who thanked the staff of TRCN for a successful first term called for more support from TRCN staff to be able to achieve the lofty goals of the Council.
Meanwhile, members of the University of Ibadan (UI), community have started responding to the re-appointment of Adeboye as DG TRCN, saying that it was one of the best that has happened in the history of the agency.
In a swift reaction, the former Vice Chancellor of the nation’s Premier University, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka said, “The re-appointment of Professor Ajiboye is a round peg in a round hole. We thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the confidence repose in our comrade, friend, and colleague by his preferment”.
