President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the completion of the dualisation of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State at a total cost of N147,887,810,833.87.
The project, which has faced delays over the years, will be handled by Messrs JRB Construction Co. Ltd.
The approval underscores Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in addressing the challenges faced by road users along the Ibadan-Ilorin highway, which remains partially uncompleted.
Recognising the strategic importance of the road, the President emphasised its role in facilitating the movement of goods and agricultural produce from the northern part of the country to Lagos.
The road is also critical for commuters, including students and other travelers, who have endured years of hardship due to its poor condition.
With this latest development, it is expected that the completion of the road will significantly reduce travel time, improve safety, and boost economic activities along the corridor.
