Professor of Law, Chief Toriola Oyewo Ajagbe today died at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
Toriola, who was elevated to the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in 2021, was a lecturer at Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria.
Born on January 11, 1931, in Erunmu, a community in the Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan, attended Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Erunmu. For his secondary school, Chief Toriola attended Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School and Ibadan Grammar School. He also attended Seventh Day Adventist Teachers’ Training College and I left in 1947.
For his university education, he attended University College, London, School of Oriental and African Studies in London, University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and University of Ibadan (UI). He had two Master’s Degree: master’s of Philosophy in Public Admin and African Studies and two PhDs: African Law and the other in Administration.
He left UI as an Associate Professor to Lead City University, where he was made a substantive Professor and Dean of Faculty of Law. He also worked at Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Al-Hikma University, Ilorin, Kwara State.
