Professor Ayo Hammed of the Department of Counseling and Human Development Studies, University of Ibadan (UI), will on Thursday, March 21, 2024, present the 546th edition of the nation’s premier university’s inaugural lecture series.
Hammed’s inaugural lecture is titled, “We Die Here Today’: Youth Violence, Social Dysfunction and a Counseling Psychologist’s Pathway to Peace”.
The lecture explores the subject of youth violence, its implications, and how society can take advantage of youths’ energy for the benefit of all.
According to the information from the university, the event expected to be chaired by the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale is slated for 5 pm at the Trenchard Hall.
Though, trained as a counseling psychologist and a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Hammed, a former acting director of the university’s Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, has been actively involved in peace scholarship, advocacy, and interventions for decades.
