Between Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17, 2024, notable Nigerian journalists joined the family and friends of a seasoned journalist and Punch columnist, Tunde Odesola to lay his father, Pa Adebisi Ezekiel Odesola to rest in Lagos.
Tunde Odesola, who is now based in USA with his other siblings went out of their ways to give their father a befitting burial.
Pa Adebisi Ezekiel Odesola, who hails from the family of the Lowa Nikan clan in Igbajo, Osun State, died on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
The funeral events included a service of songs held on Thursday, May 18, 2024, at the deceased residence at Orile Agege, Lagos State, followed by a funeral service at Araromi Baptist Church, 42, Sokunbi Street, Mushin, Lagos, burial at the deceased house and entertainment of guests at DayStar Christian Centre located at A3C, Ikosi Road, Oregun, Lagos, on Friday, May 18, 2024.
Guests were treated to various sumptuous meals, delicacies, and assorted local and foreign beers, wines, soft drinks, and different snacks. Quite interesting is the provision on request of ‘Gari’ with chilled water and groundnuts accompanied with peak milk, sugar, if needed and the combination of shrimps and fish.
Drinks, particularly, wines were not rationed as many of the left overs were packed by unidentified people who went around the tables seeking permission to take them.
