Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II today April 21 2020 turns 94. A traditional gun salute to honor her birthday will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown orders in the United Kingdom.
Traditionally, the Queen’s birthday is marked by a 41-gun salute in Green Park adjacent to Buckingham Palace and later by a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
Another celebration for her birthday is held in June of each year with Trooping the Colour, but officials previously announced that it had been canceled because of the virus.
