Russian citizens are confused over whether the nation should have a new president in 2024, after the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent, President Vladimir Putin or not.
According to Levada-Center, the country’s largest independent pollster, in a nationwide survey conducted to determine the fate of Putin after 2024, while 46 per cent Russians voted for his exit 45 voted for his stay in power.
According to NAN, the country is to vote in two months on a raft of amendments to the constitution, some of which could enable Putin to retain authority after his current term ends.
While a quarter of the respondents to the nationwide survey said they planned to vote in favour of the amendment, 10 per cent stated that they would vote against them and 37 per cent were undecided.
