A second batch of 317 Nigerians, including 9 infants, evacuated from the United Kingdom (UK), as part of Federal Government’s Evacuation Process due to the coronavirus pandemic, arrived Abuja yesterday evening, Sunday 28 June, 2020.
The UK returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 9:50 pm local time via Air Peace flight P47801 from Heathrow Airport after some delay before takeoff.
Out of the 317, 175 of the returnees disembarked in Abuja while 142 proceeded to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), all the evacuees had tested negative to COVID-19, and are proceeding on 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The first batch of evacuees from the UK had arrived in the country on May 8, 2020.
