The newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen in Osun State have been sworn into office, following a peaceful election despite initial uncertainties.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, congratulated the new chairmen and urged them to see their positions as an opportunity to serve the people of Osun State.
“Congratulations to the newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen in Osun State. Despite all odds, the election went ahead as scheduled and was peaceful,” the governor stated, charging the new officeholders to prioritise the welfare of their constituents and uphold the principles of good governance.

The ceremony, which took place in Osogbo, the state capital, was attended by government officials, political stakeholders, and supporters.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, emphasising that local governments play a crucial role in delivering essential services to the people.
The swearing-in marks the beginning of a new tenure for the local government executives, who are expected to commence work immediately in their respective councils.
