A service of songs was held today, December 3 2020 at the Arcade of the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, as part of the activities of the funeral of the mother of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
His mother, Madam Abigail Omojolagbe Amope Makinde (Nee Omoregie), died in the early hours of Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the age of 80.
The remains of late Madam Makinde was earlier received at the Ikolaba, Ibadan Residence of the Governor amid pomp and pageantry by Governor Makinde, his Wife Tamunominini Makinde, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola.
During the Lying in State, prayers were offered to God for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, were among the dignitaries that attended the service of song for the deceased.
Madam Abigail Omojolagbe Makinde will be buried tomorrow, Friday December 4, 2020.
