A lady, who stole N200, 000 in a provision store located at Iyana Ipaja Area of Lagos State and hid it in her pant was arrested by the store owner and handed over to the police.
The lady, who sneaked into the shop when the owner stepped out claimed that she stole the money because she was hungry and she needed money to feed herself.
An eyewitness reported, “She sneaked into the store as soon as the owner stepped out. She used a hijab and pretended as though she wanted to buy something. She took the money and immediately put it in her underwear.”
However, before she escaped the owner of the shop came and caught her. The traders around and the spectators did not rough handle her, rather she was put in “keke Warwa” and taken to the police station.
In a video that has gone viral, the lady who was seen very apprehensive was seen begging people not to beat her.
Upon interrogation, she said, “I stole money. I need the money. I stole the money because I am hungry.”
