A 300 Level History and International Studies student of University of Jos, Plateau State, Rinji Peter Bala, was allegedly murdered by soldiers in Jos, Plateau State yesterday evening.
Rinji Bala, also known as Bobo, was said to have gone for a stroll in one of the busy areas, close to his neighborhood with a friend around 8.30pm yesterday and was accosted by soldiers in a patrol hilux who tagged them as armed robbers.
It was gathered that the incident caught the attention of some people and they all gathered to plead with the armed soldiers that the boys are innocent but they did not listen to them
The boys were said to have been beaten up by the soldiers and thrown into the patrol hilux.
They were then driven to another location, and the soldiers allegedly demanded for N10,000, which the boys said they did not have.
After another round of beating, they were asked to run, the soldiers shot at them, and Bala was hit.
Rinji Bala was said to be the only son of his parents,
