A house said to belong to a human rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, located at Sanyo, Soka area of Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, was set ablaze by suspected arsonists in the early hours of Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
According to information gathered, the fire broke out around 3. am in the morning.
Sunday Igboho has been at the centre of a controversial directive for Fulani herdsmen to vacate vast lands in Oyo State. His action was condemned by President Muhammadu Buhari, who ordered police to use lethal force against him and his followers if necessary.
