The 30 year old woman, Peace Ufuoma Busari, who was trafficked and put up for sale by a Lebanese man, Wael Jerro, has been rescued.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Tuesday.
The woman is said to be with the Nigerian Mission in Beirut, Lebanon.
Jerro, who has been arrested, put up the passport of the victim on a Facebook group, ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon.’
He wrote in Arabic, “Domestic worker from Nigeria for sale with new legal documents. She’s 30 years old, she’s very active and very clean. Price: $1,000.”
Busari’s passport which was acquired in May 2018, indicates that she hails from Ibadan, Oyo State.
