The authority of the University of Ibadan (UI), has screened the candidates vying for the position of Congregation Representatives on the Council of the institution and cleared six contestants for the position.
The nation’s Premier University approved three candidates each for the Representatives of Academic Staff (AS) and Representative of Non-Teaching Staff (NTS), to be elected, adding that one candidate would emerge the winner from each category.
According to a bulletin issued and signed by the institution’s Registrar, Ganiyu O. Saliu, the exercise complies with the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the ambiances of the Act of the University of Ibadan.
The three contesters in the category of the academic are Professor O.G. Ademowo (IAMRAT), proposed and seconded by Dr. A. A. Abdus-Salam and Olufunmilayo Arotiba, respectively, Professor S.G. Jonathan (Animal Science), proposed and seconded by Prof. Stella O. Odebode and Prof. E.O. Faro, and Professor O.J. Babayemi (Animal Science), proposed and seconded by Prof. E. A. Aiyelari and M.O. Adeniyi-Aogo.
In the non-teaching category are I. A. Akinbola (U.I. School of Business), proposed and seconded by S. L. Igonor and S. A. Badejo, O. M. Iyiola (Research Management Office (RMO), proposed and seconded by Prof. Victoria O. Adetunji and Prof. G. A. Lam, S. F. T. Ojo (Finance Office, College of Medicine), proposed and seconded by Prof. C. Bekibele and Annah E. Omo, Olayinka F. Adesanya (Bursary), proposed by Prof. A. I. Bamgboye and S. O. Olojede, and R. Osazuwa U.I. (School of Business), proposed and seconded by Dr. T. O. Owoaje, and Bosede A. Mabawonku.
The election will be held on July 27, 2023.
