The Authority of the University of Ibadan (UI), has announced that the institution’s second semester which will end on Thursday, July 27, 2023, will commence next Monday, February 27.
According to the management of the institution, there will not be physical academic activities in compliance with the Federal Government directive on the closure of all universities and inter-university centres concerning the 2023 presidential/National Assembly and governorship/State Assembly elections scheduled for February 25 and March 11, 2023.
A special release from the institution and the Draft Modified Academic Calendar for the 2021/2022 Session, reveal that the school has suspended physical’s academic activities between February 22 and March 14, 2023, but will hold virtual classes from Monday, February 27 to March 14, 2023.
The statements stated, “However, online lectures would start on Monday, 27 February 2023 while physical lectures will resume on Wednesday, 15 March 2023.”
The statement added, “All Members of staff are expected to render their normal services during this period. The management wishes all staff and students a peaceful and successful 2023 National election.”
