A 31 year doctoral student of Philosophy, University of Ibadan (UI), Prince Ayodeji Williams Adesoye, has emerged Oba-Elect of Epe-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
According to information gathered from NAN, the kingsmakers unanimously elected Adesoye as the new Elepe of Epe-Ekiti, out of five candidates that contested for the traditional position.
The Ejemoye of Epe-Ekiti, Chief Olajide Dada, who is one of the kingsmakers confirmed that the oba-elect, who hails from Arowosapo Ruling House, emerged winner amongst the five other contestants
The election process was supervised by Chief Araba Awo of Ijero Kingdom.
Adesoye will be the 15th monarch of the town, following the demise of Oba Emmanuel Agbeleoba, who died November 30, 2018.
Adesoy, born on September 27, 1988. He attended the then University of Ado-Ekiti and University of Ibadan, for his First and Masters Degrees in Philosophy.
He is currently running his Doctorate Degree in Philosophy at UI.
He lectured at the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa, Basorun, Ibadan Study Centre, from 2017 to March 2019 and is currently lecturing at the Marian Institute, Imomo-Ijebu in Ogun State.
Reacting, the oba-elect noted that his objective in life is “to secure the position of the Elepe of Epe-Ekiti with a view to providing the exact leadership that the times and the future of our great community necessarily require”, assuring that his town would witness development during his reign.
