The University of Ibadan (UI), Tuesday, September 26, 2023, lost a Senior Lecturer and expert in Counselling and Personnel Psychology, Dr Jimoh Audu Michael.
Until his death, the deceased was in the Department of Guidance and Counselling in the Faculty of Education at the nation’s foremost University.
Though PrimeStar News is yet to have the details of his death, it was learnt that the don died in his office.
According to the information gathered, the man was hale and healthy and he dropped his children in school before coming to work.
A staff of the institution stated that when he got to his department, he greeted other staff and went to his office, where after some time, he was found dead in the office.
The institution has yet to release a statement concerning the passing away of the man. Dr Jimoh, who attended Awotan/Araromi Community High School, Ibadan studied Philosophy, Counselling Psychology and Personnel Psychology at the University of Ibadan.
Dr Jimoh, who was born on July 2, 1971, married Docas Kemi on March 29, 2003.
Dr Jimoh, who was admitted to UI as an undergraduate in 1991 had his BA, MED and Ph.D. in the institution and was employed in the school on September 5, 2005.
It would be recalled that academic staff of Nigerian universities are still being owed eight-month salaries, which may be part of what caused the deceased distress.
Also, recently, a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Akintayo Kehinde Olapade died on September 16, 2023.
Also in August, two lecturers of the institution, Professor Yetunde Ajibade of the Department of Arts and Social Science Education and Professor Olabisi Loto of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Perinatology died.
