The Governing Council of the University of Ibadan (UI), headed by Chief John Odigie Oyegun has approved the extension of the tenure of Professor Adebola Babatunde Ekanola, as the Acting Vice Chancellor for six months, with effect from June 1, 2021.
PrimeStarNews just reliably gathered that the Council met on May 25, 2021 and upheld the nomination of the institution’s Senate.
With this development, the expectation is that the Acting VC would be able to midwife the election of the substantive 13th VC before the expiration of the extension.
