A Professor of Statistics in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Sciences at the University of Ibadan (UI), Olanrewaju Ismail Shittu has died.
Information revealed that the Professor died as a result of a car accident he was involved in about a month ago leading to his admission at the Universality College Hospital (UCH).
Shittu’s death occurred about a month after the death of Very Reverend Dr Honor Sewapo of the Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, who died in a ghastly accident along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway.
Shittu, who specialised in Time Series, Stochastic Processes, Statistical Modeling and Socio-Economic Statistics, was the former National President of the Professional Statisticians Society of Nigeria.
