The Management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has made the wearing of face masks compulsory on its campus, stressing that no one without face mask would be allowed into the Premier University.
According to the information obtained on its website, the authority has limited the number of persons in a car to four, while commercial vehicles can only carry two persons per row, and tricycles cannot carry more than three.
Warning the students to stay away from the University campus except they are fully resident in the University Staff Quarters, the institution prohibited sporting activities, religious meetings and other forms of gatherings that may attract a crowd.
All business outfits were also directed to close their operations latest by 7pm.
Other measures, which the University has earlier put in place, include shutting of all the gates leading to the school except the main gate.
The authority stated, “Earlier in April, the University had shut its Ajibode and Poly Gates to control influx of motorists and pedestrians who use them as bypasses. The second gate of the University has now been shut alongside all pedestrian gates, leaving only the University Main Gate open to both motorists and pedestrians”.
However, accidental face masks sellers are making huge profits as they lurk around the main gate of the institution to sell to whosoever want to gain access to the University1.
