The Senate Members of the University of Ibadan (UI) has commenced the process of selecting an Acting Vice Chancellor for the nation’s Premier University.
The tenure of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka will end today and he is expected to hand over to an Acting VC, since the process of appointing a new VC has been truncated.
At the time of filing this report, the Senate members are already holding a special meeting at the institution’s International Conference Centre (ICC), where the Acting VC will emerge.
However, five candidates have been nominated for the position. The candidates are: Professors Adebola Ekanola, Olanike Adeyemo, Adigun Agbaje, Gbemisola Oke and Ayo Oluleye.
Senate members have cast their votes for the candidates of their choices and counting of votes is ongoing.
