The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan (UI), Prof. Kayode Adebowale has pledged his support for the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF).
Adebowale made the pledge when the SAAF’s Board members led by Chief Florence Ajimobi, the wife of the former governor of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, in the company of a team from the institution’s Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies paid him a visit.
According to a statement from the school, Adebowale, who warmly received the widow assured the Foundation of continued support and full participation of the University in its programmes.
Earlier speaking, Ajimobi’s widow explained that the SAAF was a non governmental, apolitical organisation set up by the Abiola Ajimobi Family to immortalise its patriarch.
The Abiola Ajimobi Round Table, according to the Acting Head of the Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies, Dr N. D. Danjibo is an apolitical annual event held on 16 December, late Senator Ajimobi’s birthday, by scholars to discuss issues of national importance. The programme started in 2019.
