The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has reacted to the video of a Nigerian identified as Sunny Mike, who was allegedly beaten to death on Wednesday, May 27 2020, at Palam, New Delhi, India.
A tweet by NIDCOM read, “Our attention has been drawn to above incident of a Nigerian brutally beaten up in Delhi, India. The Nigerian mission in India is aware and are currently investigating the circumstances. We call on Nigeria Community in India to be calm as the Mission is aware”.
According to reports gathered, the business man, Sunny Mike aka Sunny-surplus, who is from Orlu, Imo State, went out early in the morning to buy some items and an Indian woman raised an alarm that he stole some things. Some group of guys came and beat him up. He tried running, but they caught up with him.
He was said to have died of internal bleeding at the hospital but was able to say few things before giving up the ghost.
