Former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, was on Friday, February 18, 2022 buried in his home in Ogbomoso.
Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, prominent individuals across the world, friends, family and associates were present at Beulah Baptist Conference Ground, Ogbomoso where the final funeral service was held for the late politician.
Eulogising Alao-Akala, Vice President Osinbajo described the former governor as an open minded politician who would be missed for his magnanimity and compassion.
He said the late governor served the interest of his people when he was in power and gave quality counsel to those who were around him.
He noted that the late politician in his lifetime as the governor was an accountable personality who improved the Internationally Generated Revenue of the state from three hundred million naira to one billion naira.
According to him, he was responsible and respectful to the views of individuals and will be missed for his counsel and compassion.
After the church service, the remains of the late patriarch was interred at his residence, Opadoyin Akala Lodge, Ogbomoso.
