There was a pandemonium today in Orin Ekiti, Ekiti State, South West as seven Fulani Bandits armed with seven AK 47 and one cutlass kidnapped a retired Chief Pharmacist with the Ekiti State Ministry of Health, Israel Bamisaye.
The pharmacist was kidnapped on his farm in Orin Ekiti.
Among those who escaped being kidnapped was one man, who identified himself as Aina Vincent Femi.
He said that the Fulani bandits ordered him to lie down and demanded that he should hand over his money to them.
He said, “I was in on a farm in Orin Ekiti and suddenly I saw two Fulani men coming toward me. One held a cutlass and the other held a gun. I knew I was in a problem. When I looked back, I saw four other Fulani guys with AK 47. When the first two Fulani got to me, they said that I should lie down flat and I lied down flat. The first question they asked me was about some foreign white farmers working around and I told them that I am a stranger in Ekiti and I do not know anybody. Then they asked me how much money I had with me. I told them that I don’t have money. I rushed into my car and brought out the N4,500 that I had and gave it to them. They released a gunshot and that was how they left me. They removed the battery of my phone so that I would not be able to call. Other people, they met also escaped. They were seven in number. They were armed with seven AK 47 and one cutlass. It happened this morning”.
Investigations, however, revealed that joint security operatives made up of police, Amotekun and vigilante groups are already combing the bush to rescue the kidnapped victim.
