After a brief military ceremony, the 22nd Chief of Army Staff in Nigeria, Major-General Faruk Yahaya, on Friday May 28, 2021 resumed office at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
On arrival at Army Headquarters, he first inspected the guard of honour at the sentry after which he proceeded to the conference room, where he observed a minute silence alongside other army chiefs for the immediate past Chief of Staff, late Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others.
The new Army boss later held a closed-door meeting with Principal Staff Officers (PSO) and Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor, after which he proceeded to his office.
