About 18 dare-devil armed robbers attacked a police station and a bank on Thursday, June 4 2020 in Isanlu, Yagba East Local government area of the Kogi State killing at least eight police officers and a civilian.
It was gathered that the armed robbers stormed Isanlu Community to rob a branch of First Bank in the town but first attacked the police station.
At the police station, the armed robbers used dynamite to blow up the Divisional Police Station, killing the Divisional Police Officer and seven others.
It was learnt that after attacking the Police Station, the robbers moved to the bank where they opened fire and killed a woman who came to transact business.
While the robbery operation lasted, the people of Isanlu Community ran helter-skelter to avoid being caught in the sporadic shooting.
The State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP William Ayah, when contacted, said investigation into the incident had commenced as the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Ede, had deployed Anti-Robbery Squad to Isanlu.
He said the the Deputy Commissioner Police in charge of Operations had also been deployed to the community.

The armed robbers invaded the bank at about 4pm.
They then proceeded to a police station in the town and killed the eight policemen. @PoliceNG
