The body of the late Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, has been laid to rest in his family house in Ilara- Mokin.
Adegbenro, who died at the infectious Disease Centre on Thursday, was buried in accordance with Muslim rites.
Though the burial was performed in line with COVID-19 protocols by health officials who wore Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the crowd of mourners who thronged his graveside defied social distancing rule as advised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to check the spread of coronavirus.
In another development in the state, Dr Oluwole Ige, the Chief Medical Director of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Akure, and Betty Akeredolu – wife of the governor have also tested positive for Coronavirus on Thursday.
